Dane Cameron made a 2 day visit to the Team Sahlen race shop this week. The nature of the visit was to prepare the seat mold that Dane & Wayne will itilize during the remaining 2012 events. At the ROLEX 24 Hours, the seat was on sliders to accomodate the full 5 driver compliment. But for the rest of the season, the seat will be fixed solid to the base of the car.
Additionally, during Dane's visit, driver changes with Wayne Nonnamaker were practiced, to ensure that every potential second can be saved during the pit stops at the track.
"ROLEX racing, and the GT class in particular has become very competitive. Many races ended last year with the top 7 to 9 all on the same lap, running nose to tail to the checkered flag. The pitstops are as close as NASCAR Sprint Cup stops. 2-3 seconds can be all the difference between a podium and finishing outside the top 5. It was great to have some practice on this away from the track, and hopefully this will translate into success at Barber." - shared Wayne Nonnamaker
Additionally, Will & Wayne Nonnamaker were able to take Dane out for dinner at the newly opened Tilted Kilt Restaurant in Canton, Ohio. During the evening fun, the trio enjoyed "bench racing" about all sorts of topics in the industry.
