The Sahlen's Six Hours of The Glen is set to return to Watkins Glen International on a new date in 2012. The GRAND-AM Rolex Sports Car Series and Continental Tire Sports Car Challenge will take to the twists and turns of the historic road course during the weekend of June 29 - July 1. This is the first date change for the famed endurance race since moving to the first weekend of June in 2006.

"We are thrilled to announce a new date for our legendary Sahlen's Six Hours of The Glen weekend and what this change means for our great fans," said Watkins Glen International President Michael Printup. "The combination of school being out of session, vacations starting and free admission for fans 18 years of age and under will hopefully make it easier than ever for fans, especially families, to fully enjoy the weekend. I can think of no better way to kick the summer into high gear the weekend before the Fourth of July than the action-packed show GRAND-AM puts on at The Glen."

The 31st Running of the Sahlen's Six Hours of The Glen will be held on Sunday, July 1, with an expected start time in the late morning. The Continental Tire 150 will run on Saturday, June 30, and other yet-to-be-announced support series are expected to be added at a later date. This event weekend continues to be one of the most affordable events and best values on the WGI schedule with free daytime parking, free access to the infield, almost unlimited access throughout the facility and free admission for kids and teens 18 years of age and under.

The GRAND-AM Rolex Sports Car Series race during the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series at The Glen weekend, August 9-12, will once again feature both the Daytona Prototype (DP) and Grand Touring (GT) classes and take place on Saturday, August 12, following the Zippo 200 Nationwide Series race.
