At the Mid-Ohio ROLEX weekend, Team Sahlen continued to demonstrate their new found performance with strong runs in practice and in the race.
In Practice Session #2, Wayne placed the #43 Corvette comfortably in the 3rd slot in GT. This trend continued as Joe Nonnamaker placed the Corvette in 5th position in the Practice Session #3.

For Qualifying, Joe Nonnamaker and Joe Sahlen apply placed the #43 and #42 racers 16th and 19th respectively.
For race day, the skies were clear and the crowd was growing by the hour. Then just as cars were taking formation on the track to start the race, a fierce thunderstorm blew in. The race was able to get started under dry conditions, but 5 laps into the race, and the deluge of water came pouring down. Race cars were everywhere, spun around the track. Thankfully, Joe and Joe did a fantastic job keeping the slick tired Corvettes on the track.
Wayne and Will Nonnamaker proceeded to jump in and finish the race. Wayne drove a very consistent and persistent race. Lap after lap, he remained on the lead lap with the GT leaders. Then as the final laps of the race neared, he found himself in a great position, battling with the race leaders. Finally as the checkered flag flew, Wayne
