- states Joe Nonnamaker
Beyond winning the Akin Prize at the Glen, Joe's strong drive also moved him closer to the top position in the 2007 Bob Akin Sportsman Award Standings. Joe is now only 49 points behind Emil Assentato
Team Sahlen's #42 HRPWorld.com Corvette had a strong run going until being punted into the esses wall by an overly ambitious DP.
The Bob Akin Sportsman Award is unique in the process of awarding points. Drivers must designate themselves as true Sportsman, having not recently made their primary living from being a professional driver. Additionally, Drivers not only receive points based upon their finish, but also by the number of miles they drive in each race. This unique process rewards those drivers who achieve the significant portion of their car's race results.
The next event for Team Sahlen will be the ROLEX GT event at Mid-Ohio on June 24th. The Mid-Ohio ROLEX GT race will be televised tape delayed on SPEED TV at 12 Noon on June 24th.
The 2007 Team Sahlen ROLEX GT Campaign is support by HRPWorld.com, GOJO, Kempthorn AutoMall, HAWK Performance, Forgeline, Cool Shirt, TheRaceSite.com, TheRaceMarket.com, Grassroots Motorsports, HOTSEAT, Holliday Canopies, Alcon, CM Racing, Joe Gibbs Motor Oil, Genesis Technologies, Endurance Karting, Racetech Seats, Corsa Performance and Zip Corvette.
