Team Sahlen make significant progress at the Homestead round of the ROLEX GT series. Decibel issues with the HRPWorld.com Corvettes caused the team to miss qualifying. This placed Team Sahlen at the back of the grid for the Saturday afternoon race. This misfortune didn't stop Team Sahlen drivers Joe Nonnamaker and Joe Sahlen from making a big charge to the front. At the 1/2 way point in the race, the #43 and #42 Corvettes had made up to 8th and 9th in the 26 car GT field.
As to be expected, new car gremlins caught up to the HRPWorld.com Corvettes in the 2nd half of the race. Finishing drivers Wayne and Will Nonnamaker found themselves on the sidelines when the checkered flag flew. Despite this set back, the Team Sahlen crew was already making preparations to fix the gremlins and come back even stronger at Virginia.
"The Team Sahlen crew only had a brief 7 working days to prepare for the Homestead weekend. They did an amazing job getting the HRPWorld.com Corvettes repaired from Mexico and having them ready for Homestead. Now we have 4 and 1/2 weeks before Virginia, so we hope to make even more strides before round 4." - states Will Nonnamaker
The next round of the ROLEX Sports Car Series will be at Virginia International Raceway on April 28th. The race will be same day tape delayed at 8:30 pm on SPEED Channel
