North Canton, OH -- With the Orison Marketing Planet Earth Motorsports Corvette parked, Joe Nonnamaker finds a ride in the Team Turbo Porsche for Mont Tremblant.
When the #43 Orison Marketing Planet Earth Motorsports Corvette experienced brake issues at Virginia International Raceway, driver Shane Lewis went for a ride through the wet grass and collided with the wall at the outside of turn one. Although the frame was undamaged on the car, the bodywork damage was too extensive to repair in the one day before the race, and the Corvette was forced to sit out the VIR race.
After the team returned to the shop, an extensive list of parts and repair work was created. After close inspection, it was determined that the team could not repair the Corvette in the five working days before the transporter had to leave for this weekend's race at Mont Tremblant.
Sitting without a ride, Joe Nonnamaker made a few calls and landed a ride in the #23 Team Turbo Porsche with Team Turbo Performance. Team Turbo Performance campaigns two Porsches in the Grand Am Cup.
"Team Turbo Performance has shown great strength this year," said Nonnamaker. "They led at the Glen, and have been competitive all year long. I have a lot of confidence in them."
The three hour / 250 mile race for the Grand Am Cup at Mont Tremblant will take place Saturday, September 14th at 2:30 PM. The race will be aired on Speed TV on September 28th at 5:00 PM.
