Team Sahlen is excited to have 2 time Daytona Prototype winner Mark Wilkins join the team for the Sahlen’s Six Hours of the Glen. Mark will be joining teaming with drivers Dane Cameron and Wayne Nonnamaker in the #42 BWM Powered Daytona Prototype.

This year marks the 10th anniversary for Sahlen’s sponsoring the Six Hour Event at the Glen.  For Team Sahlen, a victory at the upcoming event would be a dream come true to deliver such a prize to Joe Sahlen.  Adding Mark Wilkins to the Driver Lineup is hopefully one of the key ingredients to make this possible.

One of Mark’s 2 victories in Daytona Prototypes actually came at Watkins Glen International on the short course.  Mark shares his thoughts on joining Team Sahlen – “"I'm thrilled to be joining Team Sahlen for the Sahlen's 6 Hours at the Glen. This is one of the big endurance races that I would love to win and this is a tremendous opportunity to try and make that happen. I'm looking forward to getting acquainted with the team and getting down to work next week."

Added Wayne Nonnamaker - “We are very excited to have Mark be joining us for the Sahlen’s Six Hours of the Glen.  Having a solid three driver line up for this event will allow all of us to stay fresh and put in our maximum in each stint.  Hopefully we can stay on the lead lap and be there for the shootout at the end of the race.”

Wilkins full Daytona Prototype resume includes 2 Victories, 5 Podiums, 3 Pole Positions, and twice finishing 5th in the Driver Championship.  As well Mark has achieved victories in the Sebring 12 Hours and Petit LeMans event at Road Atlanta.  Currently for the 2013 season, Mark is contesting the World Challenge series in the GTS class, where he resides 2nd in the Point Standings.

Team Sahlen currently is in 8th and 12th in the Team Championship in the 1st year for entering the Daytona Prototype Class.  Additionally Wayne Nonnamaker retains his lead in the Jim Trueman Sportsman Standings over Alex Popow. Will & Joe Nonnamaker continue to hold down 3rd and 4th in the standings respectively.

The Sahlen’s Six Hours of the Glen held on June 30th, starting at 11 am.  Five of the Six hours of the race will be televised live on SPEED TV.
