The original plan for Team Sahlen was to enter the Official Grand American November Test Days. Unfortunately, rain deleted over 25% of the track time for the test. This put the 5 drivers at a deficit to the planned track time in preparation for the 2013 ROLEX 24 Hours at Daytona.
Thus Team Sahlen made the bold decision to regroup and plan for a 2nd Fall trip to Daytona to test the new BMW Daytona Prototypes. This test will be on December 4th and 5th. Both the #42 and #43 DPs will be in action during the test. And as well all 5 regular season drivers for Team Sahlen will be present to get seat time. This will include Joe Sahlen, Dane Cameron, Joe Nonnamaker, Wayne Nonnamaker and Will Nonnamaker
“Even though we have been pleasantly surprised at both our overall pace and how comfortable we have felt in the new cars, we know there is still a long way to go to be prepared for the 2013 ROLEX 24 Hours at Daytona. Having this 2 days in December will really get us comfortable and prepare us so that we can be on much more even keel with our fellow Daytona Prototypes come January” – Shared Will Nonnamaker
“I am really happy to be coming back to Daytona to test further. The rain certainly spoiled our plan of getting each driver sorted out in the November Test. Hopefully everything goes well and we get plenty of track time over these 2 days in December. Dane showed fantastic pace in the November test. Now it’s a matter of just getting all 5 drivers plenty of time behind the wheel.” – Added Wayne Nonnamaker
For this Test, both the #42 & #43 Team Sahlen BMW Daytona Prototypes will be in the basic White and Black “Test Mode” livery. The brand new paint scheme for Team Sahlen will be debuted at the Roar Before the 24 Hours Test come early January.
