The 5th Round of the Grand-Am ROLEX Sports Car Series at Lime Rock Park will offer a frantic day of activities for both the crew and the drivers. The Team’s don’t unload at Lime Rock until Monday, May 30th. The ROLEX race cars are on track by 9 am for their 1st practice session. The the race starts at 2 pm, and by 5 pm the racing is completed and cars are being loaded.
And the race cars need to be loaded quickly, because the next challenge begins of transporting the rigs, cars and crew 9 hours to the west for the Sahlen’s 6 Hours event, where rig parking occurs on Thursday morning.
Team Sahlen will be entering 2 Mazda RX-8s for the one day event, #42 & #43. Drivers will be Memo Gidley and Joe & Wayne Nonnamaker. Currently the #42 is in 10th place in the GT class Team Standings, and #43 is in 13th position.
Additionally, Wayne Nonnamaker continues to hang tough in the Bob Akin Award for the GT Class. Wayne is in 3rd place, a slight 71 points out of 1st.
“Hopefully we can capitalize on the strong flashes of speed we have shown in recent races and put that together for solid finish at Lime Rock Park. It would be great to build some momentum as we head to the Sahlen’s 6 Hours next weekend.” – shared Wayne Nonnamaker
The Lime Rock Park event will be televised live on SPEED TV at 2 pm est.
