The 1st two events of the GRAND-AM Continental Tire Sports Car Challenge Series were at Daytona International Speedway and Homestead-Miami Speedway. Both of these courses were oval tracks with road course infields. Although both very fun courses to drive on, neither challenge the race cars handling ability like Round 3 at Barber Motorsports Park.
“With the brand new MAZDASPEED3 this will be an exciting challenge to see how well the new 2010 model adapts and handles such a tricky circuit. To better prepare for this weekend, Team Sahlen will be entering the Thursday Test Day in hopes of fine tuning the MAZDASPEED3 to the twisty circuit.” – states Jay Chapman, Team Manager
Entering Round 3, Team Sahlen is placed in 9th place in the ST class Team Championship, only 9 points out of 3rd place. Ironically, 9th place is the finishing position Team Sahlen secured at the Homestead-Miami Speedway event. And the 9th place finish was the best ever finish by at MAZDASPEED3 in the Continental Tire Sports Car Challenge Series.
The Barber Motorsports Park race will start at 5 pm Eastern Standard Time. SPEED TV will telecast the race tape delayed on April 17th at 2:30 pm pm.
