Team Sahlen enters the 2nd Round of the Continental Tires Series with an intent focus upon using the weekend to continue the development of the MAZDASPEED3. Team Sahlen will be using the Promoter’s Test Day on Thursday at Homestead to test some new suspension set ups.
“Freedom Autosport and Team Sahlen are committed to working together with MAZDASPEED to bring this latest Mazda model addition in the ST class to victory circle. This will not be an instantaneous thing. It is going to take lots of effort in testing, testing and more testing to get this car to the front of the very competitive ST field. But we are focused, and with everyone working together we shall get there before the end of the season.” – states Jay Chapman
Driving the #43 MAZDASPEED3 at Homestead will be Joe Sahlen and Will Nonnamaker. After Team Sahlen’s 13th place finish at the Daytona Opener, the duo is poised to move up into the top ten in Team Points with a strong finish at Homestead.
For Round 2, the #43 MAZDASPEED3 will be freshly painted and stickered in the all familiar Team Sahlen branding. 2010 marks the 8th season of the Red, Black paint scheme with the Yellow Lighting bolt through the middle.
The Continental Tires Series event is scheduled to start at 1:15 pm on Saturday, March 6th. SPEEDTV will air the race tape delayed on March 13th at 1 pm
