After ending the ROLEX 24 Hours with a DNF, everyone on Team Sahlen came home and regrouped. Never ones to give up, the team put in extra hours and refocused to continue to strive to make the #42 & #43 Corvettes even better. From those weeks off, several key ingredients were sorted out to bring the team to the next level.
"We had the best Test Session we have ever had at the recent Homestead test. This doesn't just include with the Corvettes. We made more progress at Homestead than in any other test in our team's history. The GT class is very competitive, with cars from Mazda, Porsche, Ford, Pontiac and Ferrari. We feel that the improvements we have made are just the missing pieces to put us up to the front." - states Wayne Nonnamaker
In the 2008 Event, Team Sahlen's captured 7th place. Joe Sahlen started #42 and drove a very steady race. From there, the crew did a great job servicing the Corvette and getting finishing driver
For 2009, Joe Sahlen and Will Nonnamaker will be teamed again in the #42 Corvette. Additionally, Joe & Wayne Nonnamaker will be driving the team's 2nd Corvette, #43.
"This is one of my favorite tracks on the ROLEX circuit. It is truly a classic road course, that challenges a driver throughout the lap. After our Homestead test, I can hardly wait to get back in the Corvette. Everyone on the team is very exicted. We feel very confident that we can become Top 5 team challenging for podium finishes every race." - states team driver Will Nonnamaker
