It has been a full 16 weeks since the end of the 2008 season that concluded at Miller Motorsports Park. In the period the ROLEX series has tested twice at Daytona. Missing from both tests though has been Team Sahlen. Instead of attending the two test sessions, Team Sahlen has stayed at home, developing new pieces for their #42 & #43 Corvettes. Now, Team Sahlen enters the Roar before the ROLEX 24 Hours at Daytona Test with a full plate of parts to test.
"We are very excited about the Roar Before. The crew has been working extra hard to for the 16 weeks. It may have been the off season, but everyone in the shop has been busy ever since the trailer arrived home from Utah. The season is always busy, so this down time was invaluable to rebuilding, repairing equipment and supplies. And we also were able to put all of our ideas from the 2008 race season into action by developing pieces for the Corvettes. Having both the #42 and #43 available to test will be crucial as we will be able to test twice as many parts at once."

With 2009 marking the 3rd season for Team Sahlen in campaigning the Corvette, the team is hoping that "3rd times a charm".
"Each year we have learned more and more about the Corvette and have made big strides. We hope that it all comes to fruition with in 2009. The ROLEX GT class is a very tough series, and getting to the top is not easy. And it takes a lot of effort to get to the top. Everyone at Team Sahlen is dedicated to the charge at hand." - states Joe Sahlen
