It has been a full 9 weeks since the 2008 race season has concluded. Within that time, the Team Sahlen crew has been busy back at the North Canton, Ohio shop working on the Corvettes.
After year 2 with the Chevrolet Corvettes, the Team Sahlen crew had put together a full list of items they wanted try out in the off season.
"The race season can be very hectic. Throughout the year, everyone kept putting their heads together to agree upon what items would be best to test out in the off season. Before we went to Utah for the finale, we all agreed upon a path of development. And as soon as we got home from Miller Motorsports Park, we were off and running to put everything together. Its always exciting during the off season because it is a fresh and new start." - states Joe Nonnamaker
There was a Rolex Grand American test in late October as well as early November. For Team Sahlen though, the new development parts were not scheduled to be completed by then.
"We felt it was best to skip both the October and November test. This way we could concentrate at home on having everything in line for the January test." - stated Mike Thomas, crew chief
Beyond working on new developmental parts on the Corvette for next season, the Team Sahlen crew is getting everything repaired and refurbished for 2009. This list of items includes: repainting the entire inside of the trailer, maintenance on the 4 wheeler and golf carts.
