Lime Rock Park is scheduled to be repaved the 1st week in June. Unfortunately for Team Sahlen this will occur after the ROLEX Grand American GT event held there on Memorial Day weekend.
"The track has been bumpy for years, but this year it was especially rough. This made it very difficult for our Corvettes, as they have solid axles, and the rest of the GT field has independent rear suspension. Despite the rough surface, we still were able to lower our lap times by over a 1/2 second from the 2007 race event." - states Will Nonnamaker
In the end, Team Sahlen's #42 and #43 finished 17th and 18th respectively on the Monday event.
"Except for two minor fender benders early in the race, both Corvettes ended the race in one piece. This is a very beneficial situation as the truck will need to be back on the road again in less than 8 days for the Sahlen's 6 Hours event at the Glen." - states Mike Thomas Crew Chief
The next race for Team Sahlen GT Corvettes will be the Sahlen's 6 Hours at the Glen on June 7th. The race will be televised live on SPEED Channel. This event is the 3rd longest on the ROLEX schedule.
