If you were not on Volk Wheels in 2001, you didn't win a race in the 10 race Grand Am Cup Endurance Series - Compact Class for Street Stock sports cars.
Garnering a majority of those wins was the Planet Earth Motorsports team, led by 2001 Compact Driver Champion Will Nonnamaker. Will won six races on Volk Wheels. Besides winning the Team Championship, Planet Earth Motorsports brought Acura its first Compact Manufacturer's Championship.
The lightweight but durable Volk TE37 wheels were on 25 of the 30 podium finishers. And if you include the 2000 season, Volk wheels have won 18 of the last 20 Compact races and captured 2 straight Team, Drivers and Manufacturer's Championships
"There are a lot of pretender wheels out there on the market, but when it comes to actually performing time and time again on the track, Volk Wheels are the best choice. We put over 80 race hours on our Volk's this year and did not have one failure. Where else can you find a 9 lbs. wheel that can take that kind punishment?"
- States Will Nonnamaker
Volk wheels will be looking to three peat in the 2002 Grand Am Cup series:
"The Nonnamaker brothers will again be using our Volk Wheels in 2002. It means a lot to us to be involved in professional sport compact road racing competition where we can prove the true value of our wheels."
- States Eddie Lee of Volk Racing
