The Corvette is legendary as the pure American Grand Touring Sports Car. And the ROLEX Sports Car Series Grand Touring Class is the perfect venue to display the prowess of the C6 model.
In 2007, The Corvette C6 competed in the ROLEX series with several teams. Those bow tie teams included Stevenson Motorsports, Beachman Racing, Mike Baughman Racing, WTF Motorsports, Georgian Bay Motorsports and Team Sahlen.
Team Sahlen lead the way with entries, with 26 Corvette entries over the course of the 13 race schedule. From those 26 entries, Team Sahlen recorded the Top Corvette finish in 7 of those events:
21st - ROLEX 24 Hours
11th - Laguna Seca
7th - Lime Rock Park
7th - Mid-Ohio
6th - Iowa Speedway
13th - Barber Park
9th - Miller Motorsports Park 1000 km
The 6th place finish by Team's Sahlens Joe Sahlen and Will Nonnamaker at Iowa was also the top finish for the Corvette for the 2007 campaign.
For the season, Chevrolet finished in 4th place in the GT Manufacturers Championship, finishing ahead of Ford, BMW, Nissan and Ferrari.
