When Team Sahlen announced their 2007 campaign in at the August 2006 ROLEX event at Watkins Glen, the plans seemed very ambitious: Build two brand new Corvettes from scratch, and campaign them for the entire 13 race season. But Team Sahlen is never one to back away from a challenge.
The season started with Team Sahlen taking delivery of the new HRPWorld.com Corvette a week before the ROLEX 24 Hours. Most teams would have skipped the first event. With grit and determination, Team Sahlen persevered through and finished the 24 Hours in 21st place out of 42 GT entries.
After the ROLEX 24 Hours, the season went into full swing. With barely enough time between each race to catch their breath, the Team Sahlen crew worked tirelessly to know only prepare but further develop the HRPWorld.com Corvettes.
Each race, progress was made both in the reliability and speed categories. At the conclusion to the season, the #43 HRPWorld.com Corvette placed 10th in the ROLEX Grand American GT Team Standings. The #42 HRPWorld.com Corvette also placed a very respectable 17th in the GT Team standings. The 10th place finish marked Team Sahlen's 11th straight season of finishing in the Top Ten Team Points.
The 2007 Team Sahlen ROLEX GT Campaign is support by HRPWorld.com, GOJO, ZIP Products, Kempthorn Auto Mall, HAWK Performance, Forgeline Wheels, Cool Shirt, TheRaceSite.com, TheRaceMarket.com, Grassroots Motorsports, HOTSEAT, Holliday Canopies, Alcon, CM Racing, Joe Gibbs Motor Oil, Genesis Technologies, Endurance Karting, Racetech Seats, and Corsa Performance.
