In 2006, Team Sahlen had lost their previous Holliday Canopies tent at Mid-Ohio. A freak Tornado had set down at the track, wrecking havoc on the paddock. At the end of the storm, the Team Sahlen tent was destroyed beyond repair.
So, Team Sahlen turned to Holliday Canopies for a new tent, but not just a replacement. The new tent would be improved and better than before.
The new tent had some very nice enhancements. Instead of the usual white canvas, this version was in a light grey.
"The light grey has been designed for team tents because it assists in two ways; lower temperatures under the tent, plus a decrease in long term stain build up." - stated Wes Holliday
"The Barber event at Alabama was very hot, but the temperature under the new tent was unusually lower than usual with our old "white" tent."
- stated crew chief Mike Thomas
The tent also incorporated a first time new concept for a Holliday Canopies tent. The two end side triangle panels were made so that a team could zip on a branded panel over the tent panel. On the Team Sahlen tent, a red zippered panel was made to go onto the tent.
"The Zip on side panels are a great idea by Holliday Canopies. This will allow teams to personalize their tents from season to season. Perhaps, if a team is running in multiple series in one year, they could have multiple side panels for each weekend's events." - stated Will
