Team Sahlen journeys to Daytona International Speedway for the Brumos 250 with high hopes. These high hopes are due to a fantastic 7th place finish at the recent Mid-Ohio ROLEX GT event.
The last time Team Sahlen raced at Daytona was the ROLEX 24 Hours season opener. At the time, the team had only had the HRPWorld.com Corvette in their race shop for 3 days. Thus just finishing the grueling 24 hours was an accomplishment that the team achieved with a 21st place finish.
Now Team Sahlen is aiming for a solid Top 5 finish in the Thursday evening thriller.
"The crew has been working extra hard to develop the HRPWorld.com Corvettes between this hectic back to back race weekends. We had strong 7th place finishes at Lime Rock and Mid-Ohio. Now the next step is putting all the pieces together to achieve a Top 5 finish. Daytona has been good to our team over the years, with 11 victories." - States Joe Nonnamaker
Joe Nonnamaker is currently leading the Bob Akin Award for Sportsmen Drivers in the GT class. He leads Emil Assentato by a mere 3 points.
The Brumos 250 race will be televised Live on SPEED TV at 8 Noon on July 5th.
The 2007 Team Sahlen ROLEX GT Campaign is support by HRPWorld.com, GOJO, ZIP Products, Kempthorn Auto Mall, HAWK Performance, Forgeline Wheels, Cool Shirt, TheRaceSite.com, TheRaceMarket.com, Grassroots Motorsports, HOTSEAT, Holliday Canopies, Alcon, CM Racing, Joe Gibbs Motor Oil, Genesis Technologies, Endurance Karting, Racetech Seats, and Corsa Performance.
