Team Sahlen's will be making the long trip to Mexico City this week for Round 2 of the ROLEX Sports Car Series.
This will be Team's Sahlen's first visit to the Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez Circuit.
The Team unveiled their brand new Hoerr Racing GBM Corvette at the ROLEX 24 at Daytona. Team Sahlen finished 21st out of a record setting 46 GT cars entered in the race. This is all the more remarkable, since the Team Sahlen crew only had the Corvette in the race shop for a total of 3 days before the race weekend.
Crew Chief Mike Thomas said that, "It has been really good to have both Corvettes in the shop for these three weeks. Hoerr GBM built us a great handling car. As with any new car there are things that you learn about during the heat of battle. We have been able to come home and work on those items and believe that we will be ready for Mexico."
This will be Team's Sahlen's first visit to the Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez Circuit. But the team is not without some background to the Circuit. Will Nonnamaker competed on the track at the 2005 Season Finale where he drove with Craig Stanton in the Synergy Racing Porsche GT3 Cup.
"Definitely having been to the Track before will be of benefit. This version of the track is a bit different, but I hope that my knowledge of the track will go a long way towards preparing us all for the event."
