Joe only finished 26 points out of 1st place in the 2003 Valvoline Cup for Full Bodied Sports Cars. This was achieved through his strong performances in three different classes - ROLEX Grand American GT, and Grand-Am Cup GS II & ST II.
This year, Joe's goal is to win the Valvoline Cup outright. With over 22 races scheduled on his calendar this year, he stands a good chance at quest.
Currently, four months into 2004, Joe is in 2nd place, 2 points behind the leader.
"Its still very early in the year to make any real forcast of what will happen in the Valvoline Cup. But it is really nice to be in 2nd place so early in the year. Its a long season, and we will have to see where we are at come August." - States Joe Nonnamaker
Race Fan's Vavloline Cup is a nationwide championship, designed to allow all levels of drivers in specific classes of motorsports. In full bodied Sports Car racing, this ranges from racers in the Daytona 24 hours to regional SCCA events. The best 15 finishes count towards the year end championship
