Mont Tremblant, Canada - Planet Earth Motorsports came to Mont Tremblant with the focus of pushing towards the 2003 Championship.
The weekend started off very well, with both Joe and Wayne Nonnamaker getting down to good speed on the track, and the team working on those last little set-up changes.
Joe Nonnamaker qualified the ORISON Marketing supported #41 in 6th place in class and 15th overall. This was a very good position for the team to be able to make a run to the front of the pack.
The start of the race was wild and crazy. Joe did a great job watching his mirrors and staying out of trouble as many GSII competitors were banging fenders.
At a hour and half into the race, a full course caution came out for oil in turn one. The Planet Earth Motorsports crew immediately pitted Joe and put Wayne Nonnamaker into the SpeedSource Porsche. For the next hour and half of the race, Wayne battled Terry Borcheller and Stu Hayner for the top spot in the class. The racing was very close between all three. Wayne was putting some excellent laps in, with his fastest being the best of the class in the race.
In the end, the GOJO supported #41 finished in 2nd place. This finish was key in securing vital championship points.
